Intensive Courses

Our courses will normally run from 8am - 2pm with a 1-hour break.

1- 2 day course
Is for someone who has just failed a driving test.

2- 3 day course
Is for someone who is near to test standard, i.e. covered the full syllabus, but still requires a small amount of tuition.

3- 4 day course
Is for someone who has a reasonable amount of car control and has covered all the manoeuvres and some town driving.

4- 5 day course
Is for someone who has done one or more manoeuvres and has some basic car control.

6- 7 day course
Is for someone who has very limited experience with driving a car.

Many people naturally assume that taking an intensive course of say one week is the quickest way of passing your test - it isn’t & in fact it can take longer than by taking our 6 to 9 week course.
The reason is that you clearly want a Driving Test at the end of your course and as we cannot book that test until you have passed your theory test we cannot book the course until you have passed that test.
So we have to wait for a couple of weeks for you study and apply for the test. Only when you have your pass certificate can we book the test - which is usually a 6-8 weeks waiting time. So it usually takes a minimum of 8-10 weeks.

However if it is speed that you are interested in!
  • Apply for your theory test today
  • Start taking any and all available lessons from tomorrow
  • Given that it will take 2 weeks to study and pass your theory test you can probably complete enough lessons to get you to test standard by the time you pass your theory.
  • Apply for a "Short notice" test which will often come through within a day or so.

It is possible to pass within 2 - 3 weeks with this approach

If you still like the idea of a course then read on - as we have intensive courses and structured courses normally 5 to 6 hours per day and can be run over 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days.
The 7 day course is over two weeks starts Monday finishes the week after.
Tuesday and we book your test for the following week, 2 and 3 day courses are similar where we try to book your test on the day following the course.

The drawbacks of this type of course are:
  • If you feel ill or unwell we cannot rearrange the course because the instructor has committed that time to you and we won’t be able to arrange other week at such short notice.
  • Hour for hour you will probably not learn as much as you would in a series of normal lessons.
  • During any series of lessons you will find that on some lessons you progress a more and on others less so. This is natural - but just think how you would feel on day the before your test if you suddenly started making a mess of things. You have no time left to recover your confidence.
Our preference is for the less pressured courses:

6 week course - A course of 2-3 lessons per week over a period of 6-9 weeks (depending on the test waiting times in your area). We book your theory test for you at the start so that you are studying alongside taking driving lessons. This course can be designed as a beginner´s course but we do recommend booking an assessment lesson first to get an accurate idea of how many lessons you will actually need.
The course cost includes:
  • Your Practical Driving Test cost for a weekday test
  • Your pre-test lesson and use of our car on test
The advantage of this course is that if you don´t make the progress needed then we have the time for other lessons before your test.

10, 15, 20 or 25 hour courses - lesson packages that are usually 2 lessons per day leading up to a test. The choice of which package is correct for you is taken with the instructor after an assessment lesson. This course includes the hours as selected plus the cost of us booking your driving test and a pre-test lesson and use of our car on test day.

If you have no experience at all then we recommend you have a few driving lessons before starting your course.

Courses do not have to be taken within a week period. The days can be taken to suit you.
